  • Father is Bruce King, formerly a three-term Democratic governor of New Mexico. He served from 1971-75, 1979-83 and 1991-95.

  • From tiny Moriarty, NM (pop. 1,764), located 41 miles east of Albuquerque.

  • Formerly served six terms in New Mexico legislature while running private law practice, specializing in estate and probate.

  • Defeated Republican attorney/New Mexico National Guardsman Jim Bibb 56% to 44% in 2006 to win election.
