NEWARK, N.J. (Legal Newsline) - Ten gas stations cited for violations are getting apologies from New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram.

Milgram's office mailed letters to 10 stations to inform them that minor violations identified earlier this year were incorrect. Following a thorough review, Milgram's office found that half of them were still cited correctly for other valid violations.

"We're setting the record straight," said David Szuchman, Consumer Affairs Director.

"We did verify that many serious violations, such as inaccurate pumps and pricing errors, did exist at service stations elsewhere. But in reviewing these 10 cases, we found that the violations for inaccurate credit card receipts or no brand of gasoline posted were incorrect."

M&T Inc. in Browns Mills, Harden Petroleum in Willingboro, Quart Inc. in Trenton and Ross Fogg Fuel Oil Inc. in Delsea all had zero valid violations.

Northfield Inc. of Helmetta, Sayreville Tire, Excell Management in Old Bridge, Hess in Pennsauken and Spartan Oil in Ogdensburg all received letters but still had valid violations.

A total of 338 stations were found to have violations.
