Bondi enters Fla. AG race
NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - Hillsborough County prosecutor and Fox News legal analyst Pam Bondi announced Tuesday she is seeking the Republican nomination for Florida attorney general.

Bondi will challenge two others who are hoping to replace Attorney General Bill McCollum, who is running for governor in 2010. Bondi has also appeared on MSNBC as an analyst.

Bondi received her law degree from the University of Florida.

"I've spent my entire career prosecuting, not out politicking," Bondi said, according to a report by The Associated Press.

"I've spent 18 years now, my entire career, as a prosecutor, trying every kind of case imaginable - consumer fraud, identity theft, home invasion, robbery, first-degree murders, capital murders."

Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp and Holly Benson, the former secretary of the state Agency for Health Care Administration, are also running as Republicans.

State Sens. Dave Aronberg and Dan Gelber are running as Democrats.
