Philly furniture stores face consumer protection suits

Kelly

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Legal Newsline) - Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly announced a lawsuit on Thursday against two Philadelphia furniture stories and their owner for alleged consumer protection violations.

Furniture Park LLC and BAC Furniture Distributor LLC, both formerly located at 3909 G Street in Philadelphia, and owner Fabio Ridolfi allegedly accepted deposits and payments from consumers without delivering the purchased furniture.

Kelly alleges that Ridolfi accepted deposits and full payments from consumers toward the purchase of furniture. In April 2009, Ridolfi closed both businesses and allegedly failed to deliver furniture to consumers or provide refunds to consumers who paid for or placed deposits on furniture.

Consumers allegedly did not receive notification that the furniture stores closed and as a result had no way to retrieve their purchases or their down payments.

There may have been additional consumers who were harmed by Ridolfi, Furniture Park LLC and BAC Furniture Distributor LLC. Kelly encouraged all consumers who think they are entitled to restitution in this case to file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

The lawsuit against Ridolfi, Furniture Park LLC and BAC Furniture Distributor LLC was filed in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas by Deputy Attorney General Sarah A.E. Frasch of the BCP.
