Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Counselor for International Affairs, Bruce Swartz, recently delivered remarks at the Disruptive Technology Protection Network Trilateral Summit. In his address, Swartz emphasized the importance of cooperation and information sharing among key partners.

Swartz began his speech by greeting his colleagues and acknowledging the strong foundation on which the cooperation between the United States, the Republic of Korea, and Japan is built. He highlighted the positive relations in terms of mutual legal assistance and extraditions, stating, "First, we start from an exceptionally strong foundation."

Furthermore, Swartz expressed his belief that the network would strengthen the involved parties, enabling increased information sharing, best practice exchanges, and coordination in investigations. He stressed the significance of informal exchanges in addition to formal assistance, stating, "My second point is we will be stronger as a result of this network."

In a strategic move, Swartz highlighted the network as a signal to adversaries, quoting General Stanley McCrystal by saying, "It takes a network to defeat a network." He emphasized the importance of allies coming together to combat malign networks that aim to misuse critical technology, stating, "My third point is this network is a critical and important signal to our adversaries."

Swartz concluded his remarks by commending the participants for their involvement and dedication to the cause. He expressed optimism for the discussions held during the summit and the ongoing work that would follow, stating, "Thank you again for being here. We look forward to our discussions today and even more importantly, as Matt and the Deputy Attorney General said, the work that will continue hereafter."
