Schneiderman
NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - An assistant New York attorney general who moonlights as a dominatrix has reportedly stepped down.
Alisha Smith quit the New York Attorney General's Office,
the New York Post reported Tuesday
, after she was suspended indefinitely without pay. The Post broke the story of her side job in September.
Alisha Spark was Smith's dominatrix name, and a source told the Post she was paid to perform at S&M clubs. Employees of the Attorney General's Office are prohibited from taking in more than $1,000 from another source of income.
Smith was not happy.
"All of (the AG's) actions towards me have been extremely disturbing because I have never accepted any money or payment from any outside source for anything while I have been employed by the New York Attorney General's Office," Smith said, according to the Post.
New York's attorney general is Eric Schneiderman. In 2008, Eliot Spitzer, a former attorney general who became the state's governor, resigned during a prostitution scandal.
