
HOUSTON - Some of the latest lawsuits filed in Harris County include a slip and fall against Goodwill, an injury at Baytex Energy drill site and a woman claiming she fell through a loose floorboard at her apartment.
A woman claiming she slipped and fell is suing Goodwill Industries for more than $1 million.
Graciela Vazquez filed her suit on Aug. 18 in Harris County District Court.
Vazquez alleges that on April 18, 2024, she was at a Goodwill in Pasadena when she slipped on a wet area while shopping.
She claims there were no warning signs in the area and that Goodwill negligently failed to warn her of the danger.

Seeking more than $1 million in damages, Jeremy Rodriguez filed suit against Baytex Energy USA in Harris County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 19 Rodriguez suffered severe injuries at a drill site in Nordheim because of Baytex Energy’s gross negligence.
Rodriguez was a floor hand with ClearWell Dynamics at the time and was assisting in drilling operations. A worker was pulling in the control panel when it fell and turned the power swivel on, causing a pipe to wrench and strike Rodriguez several times.
The suit alleges the defendant negligently failed to provide a safe workplace and is seeking damages for Rodriguez’s past and future pain, medical expenses, impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of earnings and loss of household services.
The suit also seeks exemplary damages.

A local woman is seeking more than $1 million in damages from an apartment complex for injuries she allegedly received after stepping through a loose floorboard.
Elenayaisbeth Gonzalez Almillategui filed suit against Shor on Clear Lake on Aug. 18 in Harris County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 18, 2023, the plaintiff was a resident at the Shor on Clear Lake. As she was attempting to enter her apartment, she stepped on a loose floorboard. Her entire leg went through the floorboard, causing her severe injuries.
The suit accuses the defendant of negligently failing to maintain the premises in a safe and proper manner.
