Joseph Collins is suing 7-Eleven for burns he allegedly suffered when an “irate” employee negligently handed him a cup of coffee. 

The suit was filed Aug. 4 in Harris County District Court and seeks $74,000 or less in damages. 

According to the petition, on April 11 Collins was “in the process” of obtaining coffee at a Houston 7-Eleven when the manager “became irate and negligently handed coffee” to him, causing burns on his arm. 

The suit does not speculate as to why the manager became irate.

Sandra Elena Coronado Gallegos is suing the Coco Nail Spa, claiming she suffered “life-threatening injuries” after an employee gave her an aggressive and dangerous neck message.

The suit was filed Aug. 1 in Harris County District Court and seeks more than $1 million in damages. 

According to the petition, on Oct. 25, 2023, Gallegos visited the Coco Nail Spa, where an employee gave her a neck massage that was performed in an “aggressive, unreasonable, and dangerous manner.”

Gallegos claims that the “improper neck message” caused her to suffer life-threatening injuries, including a right vertebral artery dissection and hypertensive emergency. 

She is accusing the defendant of negligently failing to properly train its employees in safe massage techniques.

Abegail Gedeon is suing Uber Technologies, alleging a hostile driver used a racial slur and intentionally struck her with their vehicle.

The suit was filed Aug. 1 in Harris County District Court and seeks more than $1 million in damages. 

According to the petition, on Sept. 5, 2023, Gedeon "politely requested” her Uber driver adjust the air conditioning. 

“In response, the driver became hostile, used a racial slur (“NIGGA”), and ordered Plaintiff to exit the vehicle,” the suit states. “After Plaintiff began to walk away, the driver intentionally reversed the vehicle and struck Plaintiff, causing immediate and significant injuries.” 

Gedeon is alleging gross negligence and is represented by CO & CO Attorneys At Law.
